I still remember reading Richard Ballanyne's Richard's Bicycle Book when I was about 20 and casting about for a really enjoyable way to stay fit. Ballantyne inspired me with a combination of poetic insight and technical information for which I am still grateful. The used Peugot U08 I bought on his recommendation has been superceded but cycling is an ageless delight!
