Project members in alphabetical order:
Reuben Anand is a fourth year student in the Directed
Interdisciplinary Studies (Archaeology) Department at Carleton University. He
originally operated the project web site.
Julianna Cheung is a teacher from Hong Kong and translates
papers into English.
Monica Choo is an interpreter and multi-cultural educator from Taiwan. She designs the project web pages. She is also cross-cultural
consultant with degrees in B.F.A. and B.A. from Canadian Universities.
Chao S. Chou is from Taiwan and has a degree in history and
training in computer programming. She is scanning, translating and editing
papers in Mandarin.
Simon Fung translated and edited Mandarin papers to their final
English format.
Ming Ho received her Bachelor of Commerce with Management
Information Systems from the University of Ottawa and has begun translating
Mandarin papers into English, as well as managing the project web site.
Mei Kleine works for the government and edits those papers with
Mandarin words that were untranslatable by other project members.
George Leir is retired from the National Research Council and
edits translated papers in their final English format.
Eric Meng translated and edited Mandarin papers to their final
English stages.
Pao Ren Hsueh traces her origins to north China and uses OCR
scanning to aid her in translating Mandarin papers into English.
Bing Shi was a Beijing lawyer who translated a dozen papers and
started the WebPages.
Karmen Siu OCR scans and translates Mandarin papers into
English.
Coco Tsao is retired from the National Library of Canada, she
got her M.Sc. from Extension Education Dept. at the University of Guelph. She
uses OCR scanning to aid in the translation of Mandarin papers into English.
W. Tsao, born in China, moved to Canada in 1964. He obtained
his B.Sc. in 1961 from the National Taiwan University, majoring in agronomy, and
his Ph.D. in 1971 from the University of Guelph, majoring in biochemical
physiology. He joined Health Canada in 1973 as a scientific evaluator on the
safety of pesticide residues in foods. He retired from Canadian public service
in early 1999 and currently serves as chairman of the Chinese Cultural Society,
Ottawa, a society formed in 1971 to preserve traditional Chinese cultures and
provide services in traditional Chinese culture to Canadians.
David Wang translated and edited Mandarin papers to their final
English format.
Elaine Wong OCR scans and translates Mandarin papers into
English.
Grace Xue worked in Hong Kong & Hunan province (location of
our project) as a financial adviser, and is now studying for the MBA at Ottawa
University. She is currently translating for the project. She loves to read and
walk.
James Yang is a Carleton University student with a mechanical
engineering degree from Shanghai, and has begun translating Mandarin papers into
English.
