Instructors Statements:
This is a general survey course in Psychology that is meant to provide both a foundation for further studies and a direction into specific areas for possible future specialization. In our particular section of the course, emphasis will be placed on the biological determinants of behaviour, with a personal view of man's distant past, traditional present and possible future. The course begins with a description of the human animal both as an integral player in and a product of the environment, and our relationship to other animals. We will proceed through the course using the text book as a general guide, but the chapters will be presented in lecture in an order that is different from the text. Student participation is encouraged.

Evaluation:
One scheduled quiz in the Fall and a formally scheduled final examination in December. The quiz and examination will be based on 100 multiple-choice questions.
