This course is a general history of Quebec from the 18 century, with an emphasis on the evolution of French Canadian nationalism and its relations with the social, economic and cultural developments of the province.

Apart from the lectures, small essays centered on the experiences and beliefs of a specific social group of the students' own choice will help understand each of the three large periods selected for this course.
