Conference registration will take place on Wednesday June 16th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday June 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the University Commons building (CO on the campus map ). On Thursday afternoon conference registration will take place on the Southam Building (SA on the campus map ). For the Carleton University residences (dorms) parking lot P6 is most convenient. For the conference sessions, parking lot P1 is best.

Ottawa is within an hour's drive of New York State. Flying into Ottawa is straightforward, especially if you fly on Air Canada, Canadian Airlines, or any one of these airlines' many international partners. If you are flying from outside North America on a budget, you may wish to consider a charter flight into Montreal, which is a two hour journey from Ottawa by bus or train.

A taxi is the quickest and easiest way to travel in from the airport. A taxi to Carleton University should cost $15 Cdn and take about ten minutes, a taxi to a downtown hotel should cost about $25 Cdn and take about 15 to 20 minutes. If you are coming to the university residences (dorms), ask to be dropped off at the "University Commons" building. Shuttle buses to the downtown hotels are also available. If you are staying downtown, or if you are planning to stay a day or so after the conference, you may find that renting a car is cheaper than taking taxis. The major North American car rental agencies all have offices in Ottawa.

The Carleton University residences are the most convenient and economical accommodation option. The number of places available in residence is limited, however. Please register as soon as possible to guarantee yourself a residence space. It is possible to extend your stay at the residences. For early arrivals (before June 15th) or late departures (after June 20th) please e-mail john_tracey@carleton.ca and mention that you are part of group 1003.

Conference rates are available at Quality Inn and Les Suites Hotel in downtown Ottawa. These hotels are located close to excellent restaurants and many tourist attractions, and are about 5 miles/8 km (a $12 Cdn taxi ride) from campus. Bed and breakfast accommodation is also available.

If you require vegetarian meals, or have any other special dietary or accommodation needs, please include that information with your conference registration.
