PROJECT PROPOSAL

1st Draft Proposal

My final project is going to focus on the Inuit society's transition from a traditional way of life to being dependent on a financial situation. I find it interesting that, at one time, the Inuit lived in a structural-functional society that had no concept of money to one that was completely dependent and categorized by money.

This transition was a somewhat gradual one with many events. These events include the arrival of the Euro-Canadians, the seal pelt and fox fur trades, the forced urbanization of families, and the introduction of ammunition and weapons. These are the events I will focus on throughout my project.

For the visualization portion of the course, I will present an ulu to symbolize the traditional period of the Inuit culture and a model airplane to symbolize the modern time of technology and finance.

Fauna will e-mail you through notebook the bibliographic reference I have selected to reference my information from.
