Some Labour Law and Industrial Relations Links
- Canada Labour Code
The statute regulating collective bargaining in those industries subject to federal
regulation.
- British Columbia Labour
Relations Code
The British Columbia Labour Relations Code provides an interesting contrast in its
approach to regulation of labour relations, especially with respect to the wide powers
given to the Labour Relations Board and its regulation of picketing and the use of
replacement workers.
- Canada Labour
Code Review
Report of a task force established by the federal government to review and make
recommendations concerning the part of the Canada Labour Code dealing with collective
bargaining
- Canada Labour Relations Board
A short description of the Canada Labour Relations Board and its functions.
- Alberta Labour Relations Board
Alberta's Labour Relations Board is the first Canadian labour relations board to make its
decisions available over the Internet. Let's hope that more boards will follow its
example.
- Canadian Artists and Producers
Professional Relations Tribunal
The Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal is the federal agency
that administers the Status of the Artist Act, which governs professional relations
between self-employed entrepreneurs in the cultural sector and producers in the federal
jurisdiction.
- Canadian Industrial
Relations sites
Maintained by the University of Toronto, this site provides links to a wide range of
Canadian sites with material relevant to industrial relations, as well as a few links to
relevant sites in other countries.
- National Labour Relations Act
The U.S. federal legislation regulating collective bargaining. It is an important source
in Canadian labour law because Canadian governments in the 1940's drew on the American
"Wagner" model in developing our own comprehensive regulation.
- National Labour Relations Board
This is the Board which is responsible for enforcement of the U.S. National Labour
Relations Act. This site contains links to decisions of the NLRB.
- Ross Runkel's Labour Law Home Page
A Home Page maintained by a U.S. labour law professor which provides access to recent
court decisions dealing with U.S. labour and employment law issues.
- Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor
Relations
The site provides information about the school and its library, and generally about
employment relations.
- WorkIndex.Com
Index prepared by the Library at Cornell University, which is the home of one of the
largest and most active industrial relations schools in the United States
.
- Research Committe on Labor
