Dr. Pouria Ghods recieves the Morris Cohen Graduate Student Award from the Cororsion Division of the Electrochemical Society.

Morris Cohen Graduate Student Award was established in 1991 to recognize outstanding graduate research in the field of corrosion science and/or engineering. Dr. Ghods received the award for his Ph.D. work titled "Multi-Scale Investigation of the Formation and Breakdown of Passive Films on Carbon Steel Rebar in Concrete.".

Prof. Isgor will attend 2010 ACI Spring Convention in Pittsburg, PA, USA.

Prof. Isgor and his post-doctoral research fellow, Dr. Pouria Ghods, will be attending ACI Spring convention in Pittsburg between October 24 and 28. They will make a presentation on "Nano-Scale Imaging Studies on the Passivity and Depassivation of Carbon Steel Rebar in Concrete" in the Corrosion Resistant Reinforcement - Current Peformance and Alternative Materials Session (Wednesday, October 27, 9:01 AM - 12:00 PM, C-302).

Prof. Isgor attended and presented a paper titled "Nano-scale TEM studies of the passive film and the chloride-induced depassivation of carbon steel in concrete" in Nanoscale Materials Characterization session of Nanotech 2010 (June 21 – 24, 2010) in Aneheim, California.
