Nature
of Course: ECON 2002 is an intermediate course in microeconomics
(prices and markets), the first of two such courses taught at Carleton
for economics majors. This course is also required of business majors
at Carleton, and is open to anyone meeting the prerequisite requirements,
which are given below. By clicking on "Outline" above, prospective
students can learn more about the sections taught by Prof. Carson, including
the television and distance education section of ECON 2002.

Class
schedule: ECON 2002T will be telecast on Digital Channel 240
this fall (2005) on Sunday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (or from
1800 to 2100). This class will also be available throughout North
America via Distance Education. For information about distance education
and reception of CUTV courses, please go to the CUTV
website. ECON 2002E will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:05 p.m.
to 5:25 p.m. in Southam Hall, Room 624.

Downloading:
Both
CUTV and in-class students must download the index page (this page),
the course outline, the review questions, and the refresher tests from
this website, whose basic URL is <www.carleton.ca/~rcarson>. The
review questions are crucial to this course. These materials will
not be available from the Economics department or the Materials
Distribution Centre.

Prerequisites:
Economics 43.100 or any university-level Principles of Economics course
(with a grade of C- or better) and Mathematics 69.109*, which may be taken
concurrently with ECON 2002, as outlined in the 2005-2006 University Calendar.
Credit will not be given for both ECON 2001 and ECON 2002.
