Away on Sabbatical 2011-2012

This web page shows my current teaching interests, publications and research projects as well as links to my course outlines and also provides some background to what I do and why.

My recent work on environment, security and conflict is summarised in my 2009 Polity/Wiley book titled Security and Environmental Change.

I will be on sabbatical in the academic year 2011-2012. Prospective graduate students should note that I will not be taking on new supervisions during that year.

As of the beginning of 2009 I have taken on the task of coeditor of the journal Geopolitics published by Taylor and Francis. If you wish to contact me about anything to do with the journal please use my email at Please do NOT use my Carleton email for anything to do with the journal.
