  • Data Liberation Initiative   Check out this site to find out about different data sets that are available from Statistics Canada. If you see something in which you are interested, get in touch with the Data Centre with the exact name and date of the data set and we will obtain it for you.
  • ICPSR (Inter-university Consortium for Political & Social Research)   This site contains an index of international datasets available for use. If you see a datset in which you are interested, get in touch with the Data Centre with the exact name and date of the data set and we will obtain it for you.
  • CANSIM (Canadian Socio-economic Information & Management Database) This is the Statistics Canada's computerized database of time series covering a wide variety of social and economic aspects of Canadian life relating to such topics as Labour, Manufacturing, Construction, Trade, Agriculture and Finance. Other topics include Population Estimates, Vital Statistics, Education, Justice and Health. CANSIM allows you to download data in various formats including SPSS, Shazam, Spreadsheet and plain ASCII. We currently offer 2 versions of the CANSIM database. ** Please note: you should never have to pay for any CANSIM tables.**
    CANSIM I - in which updates were discontinued as of June 1, 2002 but is retained for historical reasons. It contains 908,879 series in 9,380 "topical" matrices.
    CANSIM II - which is updated weekly. It was released in April 2000 and is an enhanced view of the CANSIM database containing more series (over 1.2 million currently) with almost weekly additions.
  • E-STAT is produced by Statistic's Canada and is a dynamic, interactive learning tool for the education community. It offers an enormous warehouse of reliable and timely statistics about Canada and its ever-changing people. E-STAT is updated once a year and is free to educational institutions.
  • Statistics Canada   This web site contains information about: the Census; different education resources; certain Canadian statistics; products and services available; concepts, definitions and methods used; and other interesting information about Statistics Canada.  It also has a thematic search button which can be useful.
